I am a lawyer. If I did not know otherwise, I would be willing to swear Avi Domoshevizki is a lawyer too. I was impressed by his accurate and professional descriptions of legal negotiations and processes as well as his deep knowledge to the smallest details. Yet, sticking to the details does not derogate from the thrill and suspense of the plot. There is not a single dull moment throughout the whole book. That's what I call a professional at work. Green kills is an imaginary thriller but I still cannot get rid of the nagging thought – "can the scenario the author describes happen in the real world?" A frightening thought I must admit.

Green Kills A Gripping Financial Medical Thriller full of Mystery Suspense The Technothriller Crime series Book 1 edition by Avi Domoshevizki Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Whether this novel realistically portrays drug trials or venture capital acquisitions really doesn't bother me; I like a reasonable plot progression that resolves logically, and Green Kills holds both the attention and the tension as it plays out.

Nonetheless, I would call it a mystery more than a thriller. The villain's direct and evil methods seemed unnecessarily excessive when the outcome could have as readily been achieved without so much deadly intrigue; the FBI involvement would have made more sense if the protagonist had initiated it; and the romantic obstacle seemed over-dramatized. There's really no need for extremes when the whole package could work effectively without the excesses (No spoilers as this doesn't happen but I could more easily have seen a couple people colluding and, with a bit of villainous support coming at the behest of the gambling kingpin, pressuring the CEO and VC to sell when the drug trial was jeopardized). Still, the overall story held my interest enough to suspend my disbelief and recommend it as an entertaining weekend diversion.
Damned good read. Spoiler alert.

This one starts with Ronnie Saar. The year is 2012 and Saar is an Israeli who lives in the US. He and his best friend Gadi talk all the time. Gadi still lives in Israel and runs a PI and security business.

Ronnie is into fund and fund management. He's wealthy in his own right but loves the fund game. Right now he's going for an interview. On entering the company lobby the place screams money in capital letters.

Ronnie meets with David Lamaar one of the partners. Lamaar is a man who thinks he knows Saar and he also thinks Saar will work for him. Ronnie doesn't like the fact that Lamaar has delved into his personal life. Ronnie was a member of the Israeli military, as everyone who lives in Israel is, and he doesn't like that Lamaar has investigated his personal life. He also doesn't like the fact that he treats his employees like numbers.

Ronnie does take the job and ends up in a two man office. The other man, a supercilious idiot, gets fired and Ronnie is made a partner and CEO of TDO a company that deals with medicines. Ronnie isn't sure if this is a good move but decides he will give the job a change. Little does he know what a mess he will land in as the CEO of TDO.

So begins one damned fine read.

This one has Ronnie, Gadi, Liah who is Ronnies fiancé, Christian the CEO of TDO, a man who commits suicide, the Chinese man who works for those bringing TDO down, the Chinese man who has no problem killing for his boss, two deaths using medicine provided by TDO, Brian who works for TDO and is the man who will solve the riddle of the deaths, the boss and his plans, Smith and Jones who are attorneys who work for the boss, Berkowitz with the FBI, and Ronnie Saar doing his best to figure the whole thing out, save the company, his fiancé who turns out to have secrets of her own, his friend Gadi and stay alive.

Five Stars
The story is, indeed, a fast-pace thriller. An excellent plot that keeps you awake and tuned to the next page and twist.
It seems that the novice author has succeeded – twice in a row – to produce a masterpiece. Pity it is only lasted 338 pages… -(
Great value, a must!
It usually takes me quite a few weeks, if not longer, to finish a book given my busy schedule. This is the first time I recall picking up a book in the afternoon and not setting it down until it was finished reading later that evening. A true thriller, filled with twists, surprises, evolving characters and non-top suspense until the very end.
Definitely and absolute must read for anyone involved in the hi-tech industry, and just s equally must for anyone wishing to understand the behind the scenes of the startup market and the venture capital industry that feeds it. The story is so real, accurate and vivid that it immediately reminded me of some of the great periods I had in the early days of my first start up, with Avi as my first investor, mentor and guide.
Pick it up and read it - guaranteed pleasure and you will definitely not regret it...
Title - Fast pace medical thriller
I don't know about you, but I thought venture capital's job is to give talented people money, pray and if the venture ends up as a success story, make sure to receive all the glory. Well, Green kills adds other types of risks, lethal ones, into the picture so it changed my mind. The job is probably by far more complicated. Especially if one, like Ronnie, who has his own strong beliefs, has to think out of the box in order to overcome continuous unexpected difficulties, while being unfamiliar with the word "impossible" or "for your own sake - don't interfere".
Green kills is a story about a medical startup company (btw, with a great product - my compliments to the author), venture capital and crime. But also about passion, love and friendship. Domoshevizki uses all those ingredients to cook for us a fascinating dish, one that is very difficult to stop reading. The ingredient most appealing to me is the fact that there is really a sophisticated riddle behind the mysterious and dangerous plot that keeps you wandering throughout the book - "how could it be done". Warning do not start reading it in the evening. You will probably won't get your full night sleep.
